I have been trying to disable Anti-Aliasing (g_supersampling) but it seems that when I run the game, it turns it back on due to my options being set to Very High. If you set it to read-only, does it force the game to use whatever you put in this file? I'm not using that function now and magically the trainer works. I think the issue was that I was enabling 'no reload' from the trainer's functions, which just made the game crash whenever I was using a shotgun or sniper rifle.
